We are seeking to negotiate a trade agreement that works for all sectors of the economy, including the creative industries.</p><p> </p><p>Government has been working closely with the creative industries to understand the impacts and opportunities presented by our decision to leave the EU, as well as working with them on an early sector deal as part of the Industrial Strategy to secure the sector’s future prosperity and growth. It has held discussions with the EU on the future rights of UK nationals and EU27 citizens who currently rely on the Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications Directive (2005/36/EC) to have their qualifications recognised after the UK leaves the EU. We have reformed entertainment licensing and planning policy guidance, making it easier for well-established music and cultural venues to operate. Government has confirmed that it will work with all Mayoral Combined Authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) to develop Local Industrial Strategies, which are locally-led and agreed with Government. The national Industrial Strategy provides a policy framework against which Local Industrial Strategies will be assessed. It also supports the UK music industry and fair remuneration for artists. In the event that a company is unable to meet its contractual obligation when they fall into administration, consumers who paid for goods using their credit card are protected under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (CCA) and should contact their card issuing company. In the next few months the important issue for us must be focussing on negotiating the right future relationship, including for audiovisual services.</p><p> </p><p>We have continued to build on recent progress by publishing jointly with the EU the topics for discussion on the future framework, which includes digital and broadcasting.
