star this property answer text <p>The Government introduced the Online Safety Bill on 17 March, alongside our response to the Joint Committee’s report, which has significantly influenced the final Bill.</p><p>We have taken forward over 60 recommendations, including to:</p><ul><li><p>put priority offences onto the face of the Bill</p></li><li><p>bring scam advertising into scope</p></li><li><p>include Law Commission recommendations on communications offences and cyberflashing</p></li><li><p>introduce a standalone provision to protect children from pornography on dedicated sites as well as social media.</p></li></ul><p> </p> more like this

We have taken decisive action on fixed-odds betting terminals to cut the maximum stake to £2. On 5<sup>th</sup> September, the Gambling Commission launched its consultation on proposals to increase player protections online, including stronger age and identity verification. My Department is supporting the Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership, which is coordinating the voluntary sector response to the crisis.</p><p><br>The Partnership is co-chaired by the British Red Cross and National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA), and brings together key organisations across the voluntary sector. It is helping to identify needs, match the country’s strong base of volunteers with demands, and coordinate voluntary sector activity nationally and locally.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We recently published our strategy for tackling loneliness. This set out a raft of cross-government measures to take the first steps in tackling loneliness and takes forward recommendations from the Jo Cox Commission.</p><p> </p><p>DCMS specifically is providing up to £1.8million to increase the number of community spaces available. This follows the announcement this summer of more than £20million of new funding for projects that bring people and communities together.</p><p> </p><p>With the Office of National Statistics, the department has developed the ‘loneliness measure’ (to enable consistent analysis and build the evidence base), and will be piloting better use of open data around facilities and accessibility with local government. The department is launching an awareness campaign and including loneliness in internet safety.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We are committed to reopening facilities as soon as it is safe to do so including indoor gyms and health spas. BEIS published guidance on 23 June to help spas prepare for reopening.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is also in discussions with representatives from the sport and physical activity sector about the steps required to reopen these facilities, hopefully from mid-July.</p><p>As with all aspects of the Government’s response to Covid-19, we will be guided by science to ensure that as restrictions are eased people can return to these facilities safely.</p><p> </p> more like this
