	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/11/2018 answer text <p>Social care is funded through a combination of central government grants, council tax and business rates which in the past have remained stable sources of income through economic downturns.</p><p>The Government conducts an ongoing assessment of the sustainability of the local government system. This is a dynamic assessment which reflects emerging analysis of pressures and risks and is kept under review.</p><p>The Government is dedicated to supporting the adult social care system and as such has given councils access to up to £3.6 billion more dedicated funding for adult social care in 2018-19 and up to £3.9 billion for 2019-20. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/12/2018 answer text <p>The Department continuously reviews the pressures facing the social care sector and works to ensure stability; not just for vulnerable service users, but also for the many thousands of low paid workers within the sector.</p><p> </p><p>Before the Court of Appeals judgment in Royal Mencap v Blake-Tomlinson the Government worked closely with stakeholders from the social care sector to ensure we had a clear understanding of the impact the sector could face due to historic liabilities for National Minimum Wage back pay. During this time the Government explored options to minimise any impact on the social care sector.</p><p> </p><p>At the Spring Budget 2017 the Government provided an additional £2 billion to councils for social care. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/12/2018 answer text <p>NHS Digital statistics record that, in 2017/18, there were 32,115 new requests for services from applicants who were deceased before they received the package. This data records requests for care, not individual deaths as requested, and represents approximately 1.7% of total new requests.</p><p> </p><p>This first mandatory collection of this date was in 2017/18, with complete data for years prior to 2017/18 not available. The data was first collected in 2016/17 via a voluntary collection from local authorities where less than a quarter of local authorities submitted a response.
