	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/09/2017 answer text <p>The Department for Education (DfE) funded the CANparent trial between April 2012 and March 2014 and trialled the use of vouchers for parenting programmes in three of the areas of the country. An evaluation of the DfE-funded trial found that:</p><p>While “voucher distributors and some other stakeholders spoke of parents being confused by the range of providers and types of courses on offer” by autumn 2013 “half (49%) of households that had received a voucher had already signed up to a class or were intending to sign up to a class”. That is why all providers offering the extended funded entitlement will have to be registered with Ofsted and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.</p><p>We have set out in statutory guidance that, as far as possible, funded places should be delivered by providers who have achieved an overall rating of ‘outstanding’ or ‘good’ in their most recent Ofsted inspection report. This has increased by 13 percentage points from 2015.</p><p> </p><p>The Department’s Childcare and Early Years survey provides provide salient, up-to-date information on parents’ use of childcare and early years provision. It provides a range of reasons why families in some local authorities may choose not to access formal childcare.
