The 2015 Counter Terrorism &amp; Security Act provided the police with new powers and created a general duty on public bodies to prevent people being drawn into terrorism. This information can be found at:<br> <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/home-office-annual-report-and-accounts-2017-to-2018" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/home-office-annual-report-and-accounts-2017-to-2018</a></p><p>Border Force also recently launched a nationwide recruitment campaign for officers across many of its ports and airport locations campaign to develop a recruitment pipeline of up to 1,000 officers, which will support Border Force to respond flexibly to any emerging requirements including backfilling promptly against BAU attrition.</p><p>This is in addition to the recruitment of a further 300 frontline officers to allow existing staff to be trained in new requirements ahead of EU Exit</p><p>This campaign will develop a pipeline for ongoing recruitment across various port locations as part of Border Force’s multi-year workforce plan.</p><p>All frontline officers undertake training in keeping children safe, Section 55 safeguarding responsibilities, trafficking indicators, the National Referral Mechanism (NRM), FGM and Modern Slavery. <br> <br>Border Force also has a network of specially trained Safeguarding and Modern Slavery officers who receive a minimum of 3 days specialist training. <br>BF internal performance data shows a consistent increase in identification of potential victims of Modern Slavery year on year. At the primary checkpoint, Border Force Officers have the unique advantage of being the first point of contact with UK authorities for many vulnerable children and adults as well as the criminals who traffic them.</p><p>All Border Force staff receive training in how to spot indicators of modern slavery for both victims and traffickers. In addition to this specialist safeguarding teams with enhanced skills provide advice to colleagues on this area of work.</p><p>Intelligence-led operations to disrupt traffickers and protect victims is the key to Border Force’s response to the threat of Modern Slavery. The ASB Action Plan commits to tackling ASB across five key themes: stronger punishment, making communities safer, building local pride, prevention and early intervention, improving data, reporting and accountability for action.</p><p>This plan is backed by £160m of funding. This includes up to £60m to fund an increased police and other uniformed presence to clamp down on anti-social behaviour, targeting hotspots. Initially we will work with 10 police force areas, but from 2024 will support a hotspot approach across every police force area in England and Wales.</p><p>We are also providing up to £50m to support the provision of Immediate Justice, by issuing out of court disposals with conditions to swiftly repair any damage – the aim being for them to start within 48 hours of the offence. This will start in 10 initial trailblazer police force areas and be rolled out nationally in 2024.</p><p>As at 31 December 2022, Cheshire Constabulary has recruited 316 additional uplift officers against a total three year allocation of 300 officers. The force has been allocated 120 additional uplift officers in the final year of the Uplift. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/11/2023 answer text <p>The Government published the 6<sup>th</sup> bi-annual progress tracker on implementation of the Phase 1 recommendations on 29 June on gov.uk and Fire England.</p><p>This reported that 31 of the 46 recommendations have been completed overall. This includes the following completion rates:</p><p>· 10 out of 15 recommendations for Government.</p><p>· 13 out of the 14 for LFB only.</p><p>· 1 out of the 9 for all fire and rescue services (FRSs). FRSs have, however, reported completion rates of 91% of their actions on average, but national recommendations cannot be signed off as complete until all 44 services have completed all actions in full.</p><p>7 out of 8 for other bodies including other emergency services.</p><p>Government remains committed to overseeing the delivery of all of the Phase 1 recommendations. The June 2023 tracker reported the following overall completion rates:</p><ul><li>31 of the 46 recommendations completed overall.</li><li>10 out of 15 recommendations for Government (more detail on the five outstanding recommendations, which relate to evacuation, is set out below).</li><li>13 out of the 14 for LFB only.</li><li>1 out of the 9 for all FRSs. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/01/2022 answer text <p>The breeding and selling of dogs (other than for scientific purposes) is regulated in England under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 and the 2006 Animal Welfare Act. Since 2019 anyone in the business of breeding and selling dogs and/or who breeds three or more litters in a twelve-month period needs to have a valid licence from their local authority. Local authorities provide management and enforcement of this licensing regime and of the Animal Welfare Act. Any breeder failing to meet these standards may have additional licensing restrictions applied, have their licence revoked, or in extreme cases be prosecuted and potentially subject to the increased five -year custodial penalty the Animal Welfare (Sentencing) Act brought into force on the 29 June 2021.</p><p>The breeding of dogs to be used for scientific purposes is separately regulated under The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (ASPA). The Government has published a code of practice for the care and accommodation of animals (including dogs) used for scientific purposes. The appropriate regulators operationalise and enforce ASPA through licensing and compliance assurance activities. A range of remedies are used if licence holders are found to be non-compliant, including suspension or revocation of licences.</p><p>This government believes, in line with the current scientific position, that there is a need to continue to use animals in some areas of research where there are no non- animal alternatives, to advance scientific discovery and protect human and animal health and the environment. There is a robust regulatory regime to protect these animals and we continue to invest in the development and uptake of non-animal alternatives.
