star this property answer text <p>Merseyside Police could submit a claim for additional costs incurred from policing an unexpected and exceptional event within their area in the form of an application for Special Grant, provided it meets the relevant criteria of threatening the financial stability of the police force and their capacity to deliver effective policing and/or the additional costs equal or exceed 1% of the force’s budget.</p><p>As set out in the police funding settlement for 2020/21, Merseyside Police will receive up to £359.4m in funding next year, if the Police and Crime Commissioner chooses to increase their precept flexibility. star this property answer text <p>In October 2019 Home Office confirmed officer allocations for every force in England and Wales in the first year of the uplift. The Home Office is working with the National Police Chiefs’ Council to support all forces deliver these allocations.</p><p>Merseyside Police has been allocated 200 officers in year 1 of the uplift. Merseyside Police will receive up to £359.4m in funding in 2020/21 an increase of up to £27.1m on 2019/20, and of up to £46.8m compared to 2018/19.</p><p>The Home Office publishes the statistical series 'Police workforce, England and Wales' on a biannual basis. The next publication is scheduled for release on Thursday 30 January and will contain information on the number of officers in post as at 30 September 2019. star this property answer text <p>On 31 January, we announced a further eight Strategic Partnerships between Homes England and housing associations which will deliver an additional 11,676 affordable homes for £496.7 million of grant.</p><p>This takes our total to 23 Strategic Partnerships, which will deliver almost 40,000 additional affordable housing starts by March 2022.</p><p>In total, just over 6,000 affordable homes will be delivered across the North West through Strategic Partnerships. Given the flexibility on delivery we provide Strategic Partners, we are not able to break these down below regional areas.</p><p>All funding for Strategic Partnerships is from our £9 billion Affordable Homes Programme.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>No starter homes have yet been built as the regulations required to define them are not yet in place. The new National Planning Policy Framework, published in July this year, brought starter homes within the definition of affordable housing, as per our Housing White Paper commitment. We expect to make an announcement on the next steps for starter homes in the near future.</p><p>In the meantime we are supporting people's aspirations to buy through a range of initiatives including Help to Buy, Right to Buy, greater funding for Shared Ownership and Rent to Buy. Since Spring 2010 Government-backed schemes have helped over 481,000 households to buy a home and the number of first-time buyers is at a nine-year annual high. The Stamp Duty exemption for first time buyers announced last autumn helped 121,500 people by June 2018.</p> more like this

The revised National Planning Policy Framework will clarify what ‘exceptional circumstances’ means for local authorities considering altering a Green Belt boundary. This includes making as much use as possible of suitable brownfield and under-used land.</p><p>The Government provides support to local authorities through mechanisms including the New Homes Bonus, loans from the Home Building Fund, Land Remediation Relief and Enterprise Zone and Housing Zone designations.</p> more like this
