star this property answer text <p>The Government does not have information on revenue from category B2 machines, information on machine gaming duty receipts can be found on <a href="https://www.uktradeinfo.com/Statistics/Pages/TaxAndDutybulletins.aspx" target="_blank">UK Trade Info</a> and the latest forecasts of future revenue were published by the OBR at <a href="http://cdn.obr.uk/EFO-MaRch_2018.pdf" target="_blank">Spring Statement 2018</a>.</p><p> </p><p>Detailed information is not available to quantify costs to the public purse from use of B2 machines.</p><p> </p><p>DCMS plan to engage with the gambling industry to ensure it is given sufficient time to implement the technological changes and restructure its business model accordingly.</p><p> </p><p>HM Treasury keeps all taxes under review, and international comparison is part of that process.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>It is already possible for individuals without earnings to save into a pension and receive relief. Individuals can make contributions of up to £2,880 each year to a personal pension, self-invested personal pension, or stakeholder pension and receive basic rate income tax relief at, currently, 20% or £720 on their contribution. These contributions can be funded by a working partner. Since the UK’s income tax system is based on the principle of independent taxation, it would not be possible to allow a working partner to contribute to a pension on the same basis as their own.</p> more like this

The Gambling Commission is a member of the Money Laundering Advisory Committee that is chaired by the Treasury and Home Office and was actively engaged during the process of drafting the most recent National Risk Assessment 2017.</p><p>The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Ministers and officials also have regular discussions with the Gambling Commission on a range of issues.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK’s second National Risk Assessment of money laundering and terrorist financing was published in October 2017, following the first National Risk Assessment in 2015. These publications provided comprehensive assessments of the money laundering and terrorist financing risks that the UK faces, across all regulated and various unregulated sectors.</p><p> </p><p>The 2017 NRA continued to assess the retail betting sector, including bookmakers, as low risk for both money laundering and terrorist financing.</p><p> </p><p>There is no available estimate of the loss to the public purse through money laundering by means of fixed odds betting terminals. The Government acknowledges that there are significant costs associated with economic crime and money laundering in general, and is committed to making the UK economy a hostile environment for illicit finance. However, as stated above, the 2017 National Risk Assessment assessed the risk of money laundering through the retail betting sector as low.</p><p> </p>
