The British Government acknowledges the links between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces, including the hosting of RSF personnel at Sudanese Armed Forces facilities, but seeks where possible to avoid active engagement with the RSF.
more like this

However, the detention of individuals and groups from proscribed religious groups, and senior individuals from religious organisations, is of concern. answer text
We are aware of recent reports regarding Mohamed Boshi and are tracking the case. The UK regularly raises concerns about freedom of expression with both the Egyptian and Sudanese Governments both in public and private. On 18 September we issued a statement at the UN Human Rights Council in which we raised specific concerns about the 'arrests of activists, bloggers and journalists'. The Minister for the Middle East and North Africa also raised concerns over freedom of expression with the Egyptian Foreign Minister during his visit to Cairo on 14 October. Freedom of expression and freedom of the media also remain a key focus of the human rights strand of the UK-Sudan Strategic Dialogue. During the most recent round of talks, held in London in November, a wide range of human rights issues were discussed with the Government of Sudan, and the Minister for the Commonwealth and the UN specifically raised the importance that the UK places on improvements in freedom of the media.
more like this

answer text
Despite commitments made in the peace agreement signed on 12 September, physical and bureaucratic impediments continue to obstruct the delivery of lifesaving humanitarian aid in South Sudan.

All parties continue to obstruct aid delivery, including the Government of South Sudan, which the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) estimates was responsible for nearly half (44%) of all incidents in October this year.

The continued obstruction of aid, whether physical or bureaucratic, is completely unacceptable and acts of violence against those delivering lifesaving assistance are barbaric. Alongside our international partners and the UN, Ministers and senior officials are engaging with South Sudan’s leaders at the highest level to emphasise that the immediate removal of all obstructions, physical and bureaucratic, must be a priority. The UK Special Representative also raises our concerns regularly as part of his engagement with the region. We continue to urge all parties to abide by the commitments they have made to ensure full, safe, unhindered humanitarian access throughout South Sudan.
