star this property answer text <p>The Agriculture Bill gives the Secretary of State the power to make payments to protect and improve the health of livestock, as well as to collect and share data relating to livestock health and traceability.</p><p> </p><p>We are working with industry and veterinary representatives to develop practical actions to help reduce the impact of endemic diseases on livestock and improve animal health. star this property answer text <p>Any change to the expiry date of a medicine requires an independent review of the stability study by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) or the European Medicine Agency in consultation with the MHRA. The MHRA is the Government agency responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical devices work and are acceptably safe.</p><p> </p><p>Companies can and often do extend the shelf life of their medicines once the product is on the market and additional stability data become available. The MHRA is not able to insist on lengthy shelf lives considering the time needed to complete stability studies as to do so would create additional delays with bringing new medicines to the market. It is not possible however to extend the expiry date of all medicines unilaterally in the absence of supporting stability data.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>With the exception of those relating to Shaker Aamer, the British Government receives no specific assurances from the US administration about the treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, as no British nationals remain among them. However, whilst Shaker Aamer is not a British national, his connections to the UK mean that he remains a high priority for the British Government. We continue to seek assurances regarding Mr Aamer’s health and welfare through our engagement with the US authorities, and we continue to make clear to the US that we want him released and returned to the UK as a matter of urgency.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The promotion of tourism to Northern Ireland is primarily a devolved matter, but I take every opportunity to support it. Northern Ireland is one of the most beautiful parts of the United Kingdom.</p><p>I welcome the fact that almost 1.8 million people visited it in 2014, representing a five per cent increase over 2013.</p><p>The global media coverage of the G8 summit, which the Prime Minister brought to Fermanagh, and of the Giro d’Italia Grande Partenza, significantly raised Northern Ireland’s profile. The Irish Open at Royal County Down and the return of the Tall Ships to Belfast should attract new visitors.</p><p>I am also pleased that the new British-Irish Visa Scheme in China and India will enable visits to both Ireland and the UK, including Northern Ireland, on a single visa of either country.</p><p> </p> more like this
