	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/11/2018 answer text <p>Foxes would be imported into Great Britain under one of two regulations:</p><p> </p><ul><li>The Rabies (Importation of Dogs, Cats and Other Mammals) Order 1974 (as amended) (RIO).</li></ul><p> </p><ul><li>Council Directive 92/65/EEC</li></ul><p> </p><p>The Animal and Plant Health Agency are required to issue an import licence for foxes imported under the Rabies Importation Order or a Quarantine Waiver under Council Directive 92/65/EEC. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/11/2018 answer text <p>All foxes covered by Schedule 1, Part II of The Rabies (Importation of Dogs, Cats and Other Mammals) Order 1974 (as amended) will require a licence under the Rabies (Importation of Dogs, Cats and Other Mammals) Order 1974 and must spend 4 months in quarantine unless they are exempted from quarantine. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/01/2019 answer text <p>The Government has committed in the 25 Year Environment Plan to introduce a duty on local authorities to consult with local communities when a street tree is to be felled.</p><p> </p><p>Defra’s public consultation on ‘Protecting and Enhancing England’s Trees and Woodlands’ was launched on 30th December. It covers three measures we hope to include in the Environment Bill: a duty on LAs to consult on felling street trees (‘the duty to consult’), a duty on LAs to report on their tree felling and planting, and changes to the Forestry Act to give Forestry Commission more powers to tackle illegal tree felling. We are also consulting on best practice guidance for Tree and Woodland Strategies. The consultation is open until the 28 February 2019.</p><p> </p><p>A stakeholder workshop was held in Birmingham on 8 January 2019, which included representatives from local authorities as well as the Metropolitan Tree Officers Association, the National Tree Officers Association, the London Tree Officers Association and the Arboricultural Association. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/01/2019 answer text <p>Over 80% of Defra’s agenda is affected by the UK’s departure from the European Union and as a result many roles across the Defra group are now supporting EU exit-related work, either directly or indirectly.</p><p> </p><p>As at 31 December 2018, the Defra group had recruited over 2,700 staff including fixed term appointments, interims and staff redeployed from elsewhere. Of these, circa 15 roles were on secondment. The Government recognises the concerns of stakeholders and is determined to get the best deal for the UK in our negotiations on leaving the EU, including for our world-leading poultry sector.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Whilst preparing for all outcomes, as any responsible Government would, we are also preparing for the possibility of ‘no deal’. Extensive work to prepare for a ‘no deal’ scenario is under way to ensure the country continues to operate as smoothly as possible from the day we leave.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We are in close contact with the poultry sector to understand and anticipate the effects on the sector of the UK leaving the EU without a deal. Significant work is already underway to ensure that UK exporters can maintain access to EU markets after March 2019.
