There is no evidence that Alzheimer's disease can be transmitted through any medical procedure. In dentistry, patients are protected from the risk of infection by either mandatory single use instruments, or where instruments are reused, by guidance on strict decontamination procedures as per the Health Technical Memorandum 01-05: Decontamination in primary care dental practices - 2013 edition.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services treat common mental health conditions, including anxiety. More than 3.5 million adults have entered the IAPT programme since its inception in 2008. Of that 3.5 million, over 2.1 million have completed treatment and over 725,000 are in recovery and more than 100,000 people have moved off sick pay and benefits.</p><p> </p><p>We have introduced waiting times standards to ensure better access to IAPT so that 75% of people referred to IAPT receive treatment within six weeks and 95% receive treatment within 18 weeks.</p><p> </p><p>In January 2016, the Government announced almost £1 billion of additional investment for mental health, which included £290 million of new investment over the next five years to provide mental healthcare for perinatal care.</p> more like this

This may be because it can be difficult to diagnose attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is very common for the core problems of ADHD in children to present together with other developmental impairments and/or mental health problems. There are many rather non-specific problems that are very common in ADHD, and can even be used, incorrectly, as grounds for the diagnosis. The problems associated with ADHD appear in different ways at different ages.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Under the Care Act 2014, local authorities must promote wellbeing when carrying out any of their care and support functions in respect of a person. This is sometimes referred to as “the wellbeing principle” because it is a guiding principle that puts wellbeing at the heart of care and support. The definition of wellbeing includes physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Assessments under the Care Act will identify the person’s needs and how these impact on their wellbeing. Care Plans must detail the needs to be met and how the needs will be met, and will link back to the outcomes that the adult wishes to achieve in day-to-day life as identified in the assessment process and to the wellbeing principle in the Act.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government has recognised the importance of doing more to consider the mental wellbeing of people in care homes and asked the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to prioritise this area for one of its first Quality Standards for adult social care which were published in December 2013. Regulation 9 – person centred care, makes clear that; “Providers must make every reasonable effort to provide opportunities to involve people in making decisions about their care and treatment, and support them to do this. NHS England is leading work to ensure that older adults and other under-represented groups are encouraged to seek the help that they need.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care providers in England. Under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 all providers of regulated activities have to register with the CQC and follow a set of fundamental standards of safety and quality below which care should never fall.</p><p>The Fundamental Standards include a regulation on staffing which ensures that suitably qualified, competent, skilled persons must be deployed. This regulation also ensures that the person employed receives the appropriate training, professional development and have the opportunity to obtain further qualifications appropriate to the work they perform.</p><p>CQC inspections ensure that providers are meeting these Fundamental Standards and have a wide range of enforcement powers if a provider fails to meet them.</p> more like this
