Alongside this, the Government is carrying out a review to establish whether requirements to install carbon monoxide (CO) alarms in private rented properties should be extended to any fuel burning appliance and social housing. The findings of this review are being considered alongside responses to the Social Housing Green Paper. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/06/2019 answer text <p>We agree that where there are complex delivery and co-ordination challenges, development corporations can be the right vehicles to drive forward high-quality new communities at scale.</p><p>That is why we passed regulations in July 2018 to enable the creation of locally-led New Town Development Corporations, overseen not by the Secretary of State as was previously the case, but by local authorities.In addition, at Autumn Budget 2018, we announced that we would launch a consultation on the legislative framework for development corporations – to ensure they have the powers they need to deliver. Our current programmes have been informed by various evaluations on existing and predecessor programmes. Impact evaluations require large samples and a significant follow-up period following offenders’ completion of the programme to measure reoffending. It can take several years before there is a large enough sample to complete this research, however all programmes are subject to ongoing quality assurance and monitoring.</p><p> </p><p>The <a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/offending-behaviour-programmes-and-interventions#accreditation" target="_blank">Correctional Services Advice and Accreditation Panel</a> (CSAAP), independent international experts, make recommendations to HMPPS on whether to accredit offending behaviour programmes by reviewing programme design, quality assurance, and evaluations. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/05/2020 answer text <p>The Government recognises the damaging impact that violence and abuse can have on victims, businesses, and the wider community; and we are committed to tackling this issue. Any incident of violent or abusive behaviour towards retail workers is completely unacceptable and especially so in current circumstances during the covid-19 outbreak. Everyone has the right to feel safe at work.</p><p> </p><p>The Government does not hold data on the number of incidents of abusive or violent behaviour towards retail workers during the covid-19 outbreak period, however the Home Office is working closely with police and retail industry to monitor and understand these types of incidents during the current period.</p><p> </p><p>We launched a call for evidence on violence and abuse toward shop staff to help strengthen our understanding of the scale and extent of the issue. The call for evidence has now closed and my intention had been to publish the Government response before the end of March.
