unstar this property answer text <p>The Government is clear that we want people who are transgender to be able to live their lives as they wish. We must also protect free speech and allow open and tolerant discussion.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The UK has a robust legislative framework to protect the rights of trans people, including the Gender Recognition Act 2004. Recently, the government modernised the process for obtaining a gender recognition certificate by reducing the fee and moving the application process online. We have also committed to banning conversion practices, including for transgender people.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Government remains absolutely committed to taking action to tackle abhorrent conversion 'therapy' practices. These acts are aimed at changing someone else's identity, whether that be to or from being LGBT, and have no place in UK society.</p><p>Equality Ministers and officials have been carefully considering the issue, including all of the responses we received to our public consultation. This is to ensure any action we take is robust, measured and avoids any unintended consequences on parents, clinicians, teachers or religious groups.</p><p>A draft Bill setting out our approach will be published for pre-legislative scrutiny by a joint Committee of both Houses in the new year, alongside the Government’s response to the consultation.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Wales Office is a very small Government Department of around forty five members of staff but it has nevertheless managed to create thirteen apprenticeships since 2011. Six Wales Office apprentices subsequently chose to secure a job within the Civil Service and four are currently still undertaking their apprenticeship civil service roles.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>In light of the Government’s manifesto commitment to achieve three million new apprenticeship starts in England by the end of the Parliament, the Cabinet Office will be centrally collecting data on apprenticeships to allow the Civil Service to report on its contribution towards the national target.</p><p> </p> more like this

Rolling stock procurement is undertaken through fair and open competition, usually by train operators as part of their franchise commitments. unstar this property answer text <p>Local authorities have access to over £200bn to deliver services, including children’s services, between 2015 and 2020. Local government Core Spending Power will increase in real terms next year.</p><p>At Budget 2018 the Government announced an additional £410m in 2019-20 for adults and children’s social care, and £84m to support local authorities to expand programmes for children and families.</p><p>Day-to-day departmental budgets for 2020-21 onwards have not yet been set. These are a matter for the Spending Review this year, where the Government will set out our priorities for public spending.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Government published a tax information and impact note (TIIN) for the Loan Charge, in common with all new tax legislation, and has since published a TIIN on the reform measures recommended in the independent review led by Sir Amyas Morse. These provide a clear explanation of the policy objective, together with details of the effect on the Exchequer, the economy, individuals, businesses, civil society organisations, as well as any equality or other specific area of impact.</p><p> </p><p>As a result of these reforms, it is estimated that more than 30,000 people will benefit from reduced bills. The Government takes very seriously concerns over the physical and mental wellbeing of those subject to the Loan Charge and over the last year HMRC have significantly increased the support offered to customers undergoing compliance checks.</p> more like this
