The Government is fully committed to automatic enrolment and has always been clear that the Lifetime ISA is a complement to pension saving, not a replacement. The impact assessment of the Savings (Government Contributions) Act 2017, based on the independent OBR certified costing note, is clear that we do not assume anybody opts out of their automatically enrolled pension to save into a Lifetime ISA.
