The latter, reporting to the Ministry of Justice, has received 18 applications related to fatalities since its introduction, on 27 November 2012, and has paid £228,807 across eight successful claims, with seven claims still in process. We take swift and robust action for each suspected or positive case. There should be no assumption that a positive case indicates that there has been transmission within a court or tribunal building. 98% of our 341 buildings are open and operational. HMCTS employs around 18,800 staff and there are around 19,400 judicial office holders.</p><p> </p><p>Between the 18 August and 12 November confirmed positive COVID-19 cases reported to HMCTS are as
