star this property answer text <p>The Home Office does not centrally hold the information requested.</p><p>From April 2017 the Home Office requested information on a voluntary basis from the police on the number of individuals released on pre-charge bail, broken down by bail length. Data, from a subset of 17 forces, were published as ‘Experimental statistics’ in the latest edition of the ‘Police powers and procedures’ statistical bulletin, available here: <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/751215/police-powers-procedures-mar18-hosb2418.pdf" target="_blank">https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/751215/police-powers-procedures-mar18-hosb2418.pdf</a></p><p>The data were collected on a mandatory basis from April 2018 and are intended for publication in the next edition of the release, scheduled for October 2019.</p><p>However, information on the specific offence are not collected, nor are data on cases which resulted in a person being released under investigation.</p>

star this property answer text <p>As announced on 18 June, the £35 million VRU funding has been provisionally allocated to Police and Crime Commissioners in 18 local areas experiencing the highest volumes of serious violence. Funding has provisionally been allocated with reference to data on hospital admissions relating to injury with a sharp object.</p><p>These areas have been notified of their provisional allocations and have been invited to submit a light-touch application form, setting out their proposals for spend. Once received, the Home Office will review applications to ensure consistency with funding requirements before the final awards are confirmed.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to ensuring that appropriate quality standards are met across the system and supports the Forensic Science Regulator’s call for police forces to achieve accreditation for a range of forensic techniques. However, the commissioning of forensic tests is an operational matter for the police and the Home Office does not collect information on the number of specimen examined within laboratories of any kind not in compliance with ISO 17025.</p><p>The Home Office does not hold information on the number of laboratories of all kind accredited to ISO 17020 or ISO 17025, but this information can be accessed through the website of the UK Accreditation Service: <a href="https://www.ukas.com/browse-accredited-organisations/?org_cat=2242&amp;&amp;parent=&amp;&amp;type_id=2" target="_blank">https://www.ukas.com/browse-accredited-organisations/?org_cat=2242&amp;&amp;parent=&amp;&amp;type_id=2 </a></p><p>In her latest annual report, published on 15 March 2019, the Forensic Science Regulator set out her view of the national picture for accreditation.
