The Mandate Resettlement Scheme also allows those recognised by the UNCHR as refugees to join close family members here in the UK.</p><p><br>We always aim to resettle families referred to the UK’s resettlement schemes by the UNHCR as close as possible to any family members already here in the UK, however this is subject to the availability of suitable and sustainable accommodation and relevant support services in that area.</p><p><br>We are working with key stakeholders and international partners on our future Asylum and Resettlement Strategy. This test requires that a chiefofficer believes the information to be relevant and that it ought to be disclosed. Initiatives such as the Herbert Protocol, are important tools to reduce the duration of a missing incident.</p><p>Implementation of the Herbert Protocol is an operational decision for individual police forces. We have also rolled out and paid Universal Credit to significant numbers of claimants over previous Christmas periods.</p><p> </p><p>All new claimants to Universal Credit have always been able to apply for a Universal Credit Advance in their first month if they need some financial support until the first regular payment of Universal Credit is made.
