star this property answer text <p>The Government recently consulted on draft amendments to regulations that would enable the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to charge companies for the cost of developing technology appraisal and highly specialised technology evaluation recommendations relating to their products and to allow NICE to recruit appeal panel members representing the National Health Service from the devolved administrations.</p><p> </p><p>The consultation included a draft Impact Assessment and sought views on allowing NICE to charge small companies less and permit small companies to pay in instalments. The charging model in the consultation document proposed a 25% discount for small companies. The Government is currently analysing the responses and will publish its response in due course.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government recognises that Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) can have a significant impact on the early years development of children and their life chances. Early intervention services can help reduce some of the effects of FASD and prevent some of the secondary disabilities that result. Responsibility for commissioning these services lies with clinical commissioning groups.</p><p> </p><p>The Government remains committed to tackling all alcohol-related harms and is developing a new alcohol strategy. Government officials are currently exploring what should be included in the strategy and aim to publish this early next year following discussions with stakeholders.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Foetal alcohol syndrome disorders can have a significant impact on the early years development of children, their behaviours and their life chances.</p><p>Public Health England collects some data on fetal alcohol sydrome, but we recognise that this data does not reflect the range of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD), as these are very difficult to diagnose. That is why we are engaging experts and those affected by FASD to explore what more could be done to improve our understanding.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As of 2020/21 Integrated Care Systems have been empowered to prioritise their funding as they see fit to best improve care in local areas.</p><p>£20 billion capital will be provided at a national level for the period 2022/23 to 2024/25, of which £218 million has already been allocated for 2022/23 to Cheshire and Merseyside (Integrated Care Board).</p><p>Local health system planners acknowledge the need for a primary care estate in Maghull, and are working together to develop an estates strategy, which is currently in early development.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Public Health England (PHE) has published a webpage about exposure to the radio waves from mobile phone base stations, including those for 5G networks, at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/mobile-phone-base-stations-radio-waves-and-health/mobile-phone-base-stations-radio-waves-and-health" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/mobile-phone-base-stations-radio-waves-and-health/mobile-phone-base-stations-radio-waves-and-health</a></p><p>This explains the health-related reviews and assessments have been performed, as well as the practical measures that are in place to protect public health.</p><p>Based on the accumulated evidence and reviews, PHE advises that the guidelines of the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) should be adopted and there is no convincing evidence that radio wave exposures below the ICNIRP guideline levels cause adverse health effects.</p><p>While a small increase in overall exposure to radio waves is possible when 5G is added to the existing network, the overall exposure is expected to remain low and well within the ICNIRP guidelines.</p><p>PHE continues to monitor the health-related evidence applicable to radio waves, including in relation to base stations, and is committed to updating its advice as required.</p>
