As we repeal the European Communities Act, we will convert the body of existing EU law into British law. When the Great Repeal Bill is given Royal Assent, Parliament will be free – subject to international agreements and treaties with other countries and the EU on matters such as trade – to amend, repeal and improve any law it chooses. Consequently we intend to keep the effect and purpose of company non-financial reporting requirements under review, including the requirements of the Companies, Partnerships and Groups (Accounts and Non-Financial Reporting) Regulations 2016.</p><p>The UK’s company reporting regime is well regarded. This will include support for local businesses and the supply chain working closely with the Government appointed local taskforce on how best to target money and resources.</p><br /><p>In addition, HMRC has a track record of helping individuals and business which are experiencing a genuine short term difficulty in paying their tax liabilities. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/11/2015 answer text <br /><p>The University of Wolverhampton undertook research as part of Teresa Graham’s June 2014 review into pre-pack administrations. This found that returns to creditors from a pre-pack were slightly lower than from non pre-packed administrations.</p><br /><p>The report also found that in about 60% of pre-pack deals all jobs were saved, and in a further 10% some jobs were saved. No data is available on the impact of the insolvency on employment at creditors of the company.</p><br /><p>A voluntary package of reforms to pre-packs, as recommended by the Graham review, was launched on 2 November with support from the insolvency industry and creditor groups. Repayments do not have to made if the borrower’s income is below £21k. There is, therefore, no default rate as such, but a borrower who moves overseas and fails to repay even though they are earning over the threshold would be in default.</p><br /><p>Maintenance loans are either repaid during the loan term, or written off after 30 years, or if the borrower dies or becomes permanently unable to work as a result of disability. Provision for the cost of future write offs is made in BIS accounts each year. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/11/2015 answer text <p>The best way the Government can support our industries is to continue to deliver a strong and growing economy.</p><br /><p>In the Autumn Statement, the Chancellor announced an exemption for Energy Intensive Industries (EIIs), including the steel industry, from the policy costs of the Renewables Obligation and Feed-in Tariffs, a hugely significant step to provide industry with long-term certainty and helping them remain competitive. This is on top of the millions that has already been paid in compensation to EIIs for energy costs.</p><br /><p>The Government engages with various industrial sectors through our Sector Councils, where we discuss the opportunities and challenges facing certain sectors.</p><br /><p>The Government recognises the current difficulties that are unique to the steel sector. While we cannot fix the price of steel, halt global overproduction or fix currency rates, the Government has taken a number of measures to help our steel industry.</p><br /><p>We have taken action on unfair trade, recently voting in support of anti-dumping measures on wire rod and steel tubing imports, as well as lobbying successfully for an investigation into cheap imports of Reinforcing Steel Bar.</p><br /><p>The steel industry’s request for flexibility over Industrial Emissions Directive exemptions has been secured. This will save the industry millions of pounds of unnecessary expenditure at a time of crisis by offering steel companies more time to comply with this European legislation.</p><br /><p>Finally, we are taking action to drive up the number of public contracts won by UK steel manufacturers and their partners through fair and open competition. The Government published on 30 October new guidelines for departments to apply on major projects when sourcing and buying steel.
