unstar this property answer text <p>Between 1st April 2016 and 31<sup>st</sup> March 2017, the Venture Capital Unit within the Department of International Trade secured £144.3m of direct equity investment into UK businesses.</p><p>The Invest in Great Britain and Northern Ireland global marketing campaign launched at the end of January 2017 is generating new leads to our inward investment project pipeline. Any Member of Parliament is able to request for the Export Hub to visit their constituency.</p><p>The logistics for managing the Export Hub is contracted through an external company.</p><p>Many cross-party MPs have spoken highly of the work of the Export Hub at the Department for International Trade’s (DIT) Monthly MPs Briefings which the DIT Ministerial team hosts.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>UK Export Finance (UKEF) has provided £14 billion of support for UK exports in the last five financial years to March 2017. UKEF operates at no net cost to the taxpayer and seeks to recover the full amount of any claims paid. UKEF also charges a premium to reflect the risk it assumes. In that time, claims paid by UKEF on this support totalled £8.6m, which represents 0.06% of the support issued.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>In response to Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine the UK has announced an unprecedented package of measures to cut off the funding for Putin’s war machine. This includes targeting steel products, a key revenue source for Russia, where we have banned the import of all finished steel and implemented tariff increases of 35 percentage points on all steel from Russia. Since April, the UK has imported no steel defined as finished or semi-finished directly from Russia.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises that any circumvention of sanctions measures through third countries undermines their wider impact. We are working alongside international partners to build an evidence basis of any such activity.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Research carried out by the Automotive Council on growing the domestic supply chain reported that parts sourced by UK car manufacturers from UK first-tier suppliers was 44% by value in 2017. This is up from 36% when the first research was published in 2012.</p><p>The Government continues to work with industry to unlock private investment in our EV supply chain via the Automotive Transformation Fund, enabling a UK-made transition to Net Zero by positioning the UK as one of the best locations in the world to manufacture electric vehicles.</p> more like this
