Accordingly it does not have access to this information and would therefore not create a central database of regulatory and enforcement actions taken against companies. unstar this property answer text <p>I regularly meet ministerial colleagues to discuss important issues of common interest. However, it is a fundamental and longstanding principle of our system of Government that the fact of whether the Law Officers have advised on a particular issue is, by convention, not disclosed outside Government, without their consent. The Convention provides the fullest guarantee that government business will be conducted at all times in light of thorough and candid legal advice in circumstances in which Ministers and Law Officers can be fully open with one another.</p><p>The Government is committed to tackling modern slavery in supply chains. On 26 March 2020, we became the first country to publish a Government Modern Slavery Statement setting out the steps we have taken to identify and prevent modern slavery in our own supply chains. From September 2021 onwards, Ministerial departments will publish their own annual statements setting out the steps they have taken in their priority risk areas.</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office is working with DHSC, NHS and external experts to develop tailored training and guidance for HMG buyers and suppliers on best practice approaches to preventing modern slavery in PPE supply chains.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>The manufacturing sector plays a vital role in the UK economy, by driving innovation, exports, job creation and productivity growth.</p><p>The Government announced a new energy support scheme for businesses in January ahead of the current scheme ending in March. All eligible UK businesses will continue to receive a discount on high energy bills until 31 March 2024.</p><p>Supply Chain constraints and cost escalation are not unique to the UK. The government will assist where it can, for example, with the action we have taken to respond to requests for Duty Suspensions and action to train more HGV drivers.</p><p>I would also refer my hon. unstar this property answer text <p>My Department has regular dialogue with FSB about services such as the Export Support Service (ESS) and welcomes their feedback. Our Export Strategy supports SMEs through initiatives such as ESS, UK Export Academy, Export Champions, International Trade Advisers and global networks.</p><p>UK Export Finance (UKEF) supports SMEs with options to seek finance through its range of delivery partner financial institutions, including challenger banks and alternative lenders. As at March 2022 the British Business Bank is supporting over £12.2bn of finance to over 96,000 small and medium sized businesses.</p> more like this
