star this property answer text <p>The Office for National Statistics (ONS) publishes suicide statistics for the UK for each calendar year. The latest available figures were published by ONS in September 2018 and covered calendar years up to 2017[1].</p><p>Table 1 below provides the number of deaths caused by suicide in firefighters of a working age (20-64 years old) based on information attained on the death certificate. This includes all deaths from intentional self-harm for persons aged 10 years and over, and deaths where the intent was undetermined for those aged 15 years and over. The ICD codes used to select the deaths are show in Box 1.</p><p>[3]Figures are for those aged 20 to 64 years based on usual working age. However, information from the death certificate does not ascertain if the individual was actively in work or retired.</p><p>[4]Figures for England and Wales include the deaths of non-residents.</p><p>[5]Figures are for deaths registered, rather than deaths occurring in each calendar year. Due to the length of time it takes to complete a coroner’s inquest, it can take months or even years for a suicide to be registered. star this property answer text <p>The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies to all non-domestic premises, including those which feature experiential escape rooms. Under the Fire Safety Order, the person responsible for the premises must undertake and review regularly a fire risk assessment of the premises and put in place and maintain adequate and appropriate fire precaution measures to mitigate against the risk to life from fire. This includes ensuring adequate escape routes.</p><p>The Government has made available a suite of premises-specific guidance to support responsible persons in complying with the provisions of the Fire Safety Order. These are available here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/workplace-fire-safety-your-responsibilities/fire-risk-assessments" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/workplace-fire-safety-your-responsibilities/fire-risk-assessments</a>.</p><p>As the enforcing authority for the Fire Safety Order in their area, each local fire and rescue authority is required by the Fire and Rescue National Framework to have in place a risk-based inspection programme for auditing compliance. Where a potential new risk emerges, it is for individual authorities to determine how best to use their resources to reduce the risks facing the communities.</p>

The review is looking at issues such as manufacturing standards, secure storage and whether current arrangements are sufficient to prevent children gaining access to air weapons, as well as licensing arrangements in Scotland and Northern Ireland.</p><p>We are taking into account representations put forward by animal welfare organisations as part of the review. The Department has received a large number of representations on these topics, and we are considering them carefully before deciding how to proceed. We will publish the outcome of the review in due course.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy works closely with the Department for Education (DfE) which is responsible for skills policy and also the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the body that supports training and skills in construction.</p><p> </p><p>DfE is currently working with employers in the construction industry to develop new apprenticeships for the sector. While evidence suggests there are sufficient learners going through the skills system, with over 200,000 construction qualifications being taken each year, reforms set out in the skills plan (July 2016) will ensure these qualifications become more relevant and meet the industry’s needs.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, the Construction Leadership Council, the business led sector council which advises Government on key strategic issues, has investigated the labour model in their construction and commissioned an independent report from Mark Farmer ( published in October 2016, <a href="http://www.cast-consultancy.com/news-casts/farmer-review-uk-construction-labour-model-3/" target="_blank">http://www.cast-consultancy.com/news-casts/farmer-review-uk-construction-labour-model-3)</a> making recommendations for industry and Government. Both the Government and the Construction Leadership Council is currently considering the review’s recommendations.</p><p> </p>
