	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/12/2018 answer text <p>The Government recognises the importance of publishing guidance under Section 49 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 on the identification of and support for potential victims of modern slavery.</p><p>The Act requires the Secretary of State to publish statutory guidance on indicators of potential trafficking, arrangements for determining whether there are reasonable grounds to believe that a person may be a victim of slavery or human trafficking, and arrangements for providing assistance and support to these victims.</p><p>The guidance will reference subsistence rates as part of the package of support provided to potential victims, however it will not include the specific amount that individuals are entitled to.</p><p> </p><p>The Government will publish this guidance as soon as we are able. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/11/2018 answer text <p>The Government is committed to tacking the scourge of modern slavery and supporting those affected by this crime.</p><p>In 2017, Home Office Ministers agreed a comprehensive package of reforms to the National Referral Mechanism, which included the introduction of places of safety for those leaving situations of exploitation, trebling the period of move on support to assist victims moving out of government funded support and aligning the subsistence rates paid to potential victims of modern slavery with those received by asylum seekers.</p><p>In light of the judgment in K and AM, the Home Office has immediately reinstated the top up paid to those in the Victim Care Contract who are also receiving support from the asylum support system, so that they receive a total of £65 per week.</p><p>We are currently putting in place processes to ensure that those who have been affected receive a full back payment as soon as possible, and will set out how we plan to respond in due course, including our communications with all those affected. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/05/2020 answer text <p>The safety and security of those supported through the modern slavery Victim Care Contract (VCC) is a top priority for government.  Contingency planning continues to consider how essential services and support for all victims of modern slavery can continue throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.</p><p>The Victim Care Contract operates as a bridge to lift victims of modern slavery out of a situation of exploitation and help to establish longer-term stability and pathway to rebuild their lives. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/04/2018 answer text <p>The Salvation Army (TSA) are contracted by the Home Office to deliver the Victim Care Contract, which ensures that the needs of adult potential victims of modern slavery are met. This includes accommodation, medical care, counselling, translation services and a dedicated specialist support worker. TSA are required to adhere to the Home Office’s own requirements in respect of safeguarding.</p><p>TSA subcontracts to a network of 13 subcontractors in England and Wales to deliver this service. Within the contract, there are requirements for subcontractors to be inspected on a regular basis; these are inspections on both accommodation standards and safeguarding, which are carried out annually.</p><p>The Salvation Army undertakes routine safeguarding checks of all subcontracted provision – undertaken by their independent inspection team.
