<p>Energy suppliers will determine which meter manufacturers to contract with and who should install the meters according to their own commercial procedures. The purchase and installation of smart meters is a matter for energy suppliers provided they are compliant with the smart metering equipment technical specifications (SMETS).</p><p> </p>
