star this property answer text <p>The National Security Capability Review was conducted in support of the implementation of the National Security Strategy and Strategic Security and Defence Review, to help ensure that the underlying policies and plans were as joined-up, efficient, and effective as possible. The review drew upon the existing National Security Risk Assessment and refreshed our understanding of the challenges based upon the current national security context.</p><p>The National Security Council has agreed the high-level findings of the National Security Capability Review. Ministers have agreed that we should finalise the National Security Capability Review with a view to publishing the conclusions in late spring.</p> more like this

The original £10m allocated is still available and will be invested in addition to the NSSIF funding. There were no conversations with the Secretary of State for Defence prior to this decision being taken.</p> more like this
