The UK continues to provide the Palestinian Authority (PA) with professional support in helping develop its security institutions. This provision includes training and other technical assistance to the PA Ministry of Interior and PA security forces, to support the development of capable, responsible security forces that respect human rights and are accountable to the Palestinian people. The Foreign Secretary has made clear that the UK wants to see a de-escalation of tensions in Israel and the OPTs in his phone calls with both the Israeli Foreign Minister Cohen and Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Malki on 7 March, and we continue to encourage all sides to take action which delivers this.
more like this

answer text
Human Rights are a crucial element underpinning the UK's foreign policy. The UK continues to engage with the Government of Israel and the Palestinian Authority on human rights issues where they exist. We call on Israel to abide by its obligations under international law and have a regular dialogue with Israel on legal issues relating to the occupation. It is vital that all actions are proportionate, in line with International Humanitarian Law and avoid civilian casualties. The Foreign Secretary has made this clear to Israeli Foreign Minister Cohen during a phone call on 7 March.
more like this
