star this property answer text <p>The Department’s latest English Housing Survey provides information on the rates of home ownership in England. In 2014/15, home ownership stood at 64%. The Department does not provide a breakdown of the rates of home ownership by regions or constituencies. The Survey is available through the following link:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/english-housing-survey-2014-to-2015-headline-report" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/english-housing-survey-2014-to-2015-headline-report</a></p><p>Since 2010, over 362,000 households have been helped to purchase a home through Government backed schemes including Help to Buy and Right to Buy. But we have not been building enough homes as a country for decades. The Government will soon be publishing a White Paper outlining further measures to tackle the housing shortage.</p> more like this

The Help to Buy ISA figures are based on the number of bonuses paid (per person) rather than per property.</p> more like this
