It is considering the legal framework to deal with these new <br />substances, as well as other policy levers, for example in health or education <br />which might be available to the Government. <br /><br />The names of the core expert panel members are given in the attached table. <br />Members were chosen for their expertise and extensive networks which they are <br />using to bring evidence to the review. <br /><br />The panel is considering national and international available evidence, <br />and is engaging with other experts and organisations including charities as the review progresses. <br />The choice of expert witnesses is a matter for the panel.<br /><br />As referred to in the published Terms of Reference, the panel's recommendations <br />will be presented to Home Office Ministers in the Spring.</p><p /> <p /> <p> </p>

star this property answer text <p /> <p /> <p>Statistics on the number of claims outstanding are not routinely derived or published.</p><p>PIP statistics published on 5th June 2014 showed that by the end of March 2014, 349,000 PIP new claims had been registered and 83,900 PIP new claim decisions had been made. There are several reasons why a registered claim may not yet be determined. For example the claimant has not yet returned their additional information form or is awaiting their assessment date, DWP have not yet made a decision on their claim or the claimant has advised that they wish to withdraw their claim.<strong>    </strong></p> more like this

star this property answer text <p /> <p /> <p>The Department's contracts with Capita and Atos Healthcare for the delivery of assessments for Personal Independence Payment include a full set of service level agreements setting out the Department's expectations for service delivery. We are closely monitoring their progress against these and are taking action to drive up performance where this does not meet the required standards.</p><p> </p><p>We are aware that, in many cases, it is taking longer than we would like for claimants to have their assessments with Capita and Atos Healthcare. To ensure they deliver we are working closely with our suppliers to speed up the process for claimants.</p> more like this
