star this property answer text We welcome the clear, unified statement of the UN Security Council on 10 December calling for the Gambian election results to be respected, as well as the efforts of Economic Community Of West African States to impress on President Jammeh the need to respect the will of the people and ensure a peaceful handover of power to President-elect Barrow. The UK is working with all international partners at the UN to ensure the democratic will of the Gambian people is enacted in a peaceful manner. The UK's permanent representative to the UN is engaged on the current situation in The Gambia. more like this

star this property answer text We remain deeply concerned by the case of Lee Po and his involuntary removal to the mainland, which was a serious breach of the Joint Declaration. The Foreign Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond), raised the case of Mr Lee with the Hong Kong and Chinese authorities on 8 and 9 April. We continue to call for Mr Lee’s liberty to be fully restored and remain ready to provide consular assistance. To date we have not been granted consular access to him. more like this

This support includes the £500 million Household Support Fund to help vulnerable households with costs for essentials such as energy bills, food, clothing, and utilities over the winter.<p> </p>Water companies will also continue to offer a wide range of support, including bill discounts such as Watersure and social tariffs, adjusting payment plans and helping customers to get advice on benefits and managing debts.
