unstar this property answer text <p>Under The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 anyone who is in the business of selling animals as pets or breeding and selling dogs needs a valid licence from their local authority. Licensees must meet strict statutory minimum welfare standards which are enforced by local authorities who have powers to issue, refuse or revoke licences. Any licensee advertising animals for sale will need to include their licence number in the advert and specify the local authority who issued the licence. Advertisements must also include the age of the animal for sale displayed alongside a recognisable photograph.</p><p><br> Legislation protects all animals from being transported in a way likely to cause injury or suffering. Transportation of vertebrate animals for a commercial purpose must comply fully with legal requirements aimed at protecting their welfare, set out in Regulation (EC) 1/2005 (as retained). Vertebrate animals transported for non-commercial purposes and invertebrates are protected from injury or unnecessary suffering by a general duty of care provision in Article 4 of The Welfare of Animals (Transport) (England) Order 2006 (WATEO) and equivalent national legislation in Scotland and Wales.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>In 2021-22 the FCDO allocated £6.5million of its non-ODA programme allocation to the Asia-Pacific region, which is 9.2% of the FCDO's total non-ODA programme allocation. In 2022-23, the FCDO allocated £1million to Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), £1.5million to Indo Pacific, and £3.4million to individual posts in the region . This totals £5.9million non-ODA programme allocation to the Asia-Pacific region, which is 8.6% of the FCDO's total non-ODA programme allocation. These figures exclude spend through the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund, the FCDO's arm's length bodies and international subscriptions. The FCDO does not hold accurate non-ODA programme spend or allocation data at a regional level prior to 2021-22. unstar this property answer text <p>Data on the detail of individual staff roles and responsibilities is not held centrally.</p><p>The publication of the Integrated Review in March 2021 affirmed the UK's increased focus and long-term commitment to the Indo-Pacific. The Indo-Pacific tilt is a whole of UK Government effort with staff focused on delivering UK objectives across the region, including to strengthen defence, security and trade partnerships, and to and uphold and promote the international rules based system.</p><p>A significant and increasing number of FCDO roles in the UK and across the global network, involve an element of China policy. This shift in focus and resource has been underway for a number of years. The FCDO dedicated an additional £3 million in 2020/21 and a further £3 million in 2022/23 to increase our capability on China, including a significantly expanded China Department and new China-related roles in the overseas network.</p><p>In addition, the UK continues to increase focus on the region. We have doubled the number of British High Commissions across the Pacific Island Countries over the past three years. The UK now has six High Commissions in the Pacific including: Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Samoa and Vanuatu.</p><p>The UK also opened the UK Mission to ASEAN in 2019 to strengthen UK-ASEAN engagement. Since achieving ASEAN Dialogue Partner Status, the UK Mission to ASEAN has expanded with further roles planned by March 2023. We have also increased resourcing in a number of key Missions including Canberra, Jakarta, and Singapore. Recruitment is underway for new roles across trade, economics, cyber, media/communications, science and technology.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>Frontline diplomatic activity was the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's term for ODA eligible operating costs and so this response focuses on that expenditure. Prior to the merger of the Department for International Development and Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2020, the two legacy organisations took different approaches to reporting ODA eligible operating expenditure. As the aid agency, 100 per cent of DFID's operating expenditure was ODA eligible, but DFID did not break operating expenditure down by region. Only a portion of the FCO's operating expenditure was ODA eligible and, based on the published Statistics on International Development, the table below shows how much for each calendar year. We always aim to make an award decision as quickly as possible, taking into account the need to review all available evidence.</p><p> </p><p>Personal Independence Payment (PIP) clearance times are available as part of the PIP Official Statistics quarterly release. It is possible for claims to transition between normal and special rules, and between new claims and reassessments, during the course of the claimant journey;</li><li>The figures in Table 1A are the average clearance time of claims completing the relevant stage of customer journey within that calendar month;</li><li>The 'Registration to DWP decision (end to end)' clearance time is measured as the average time between the date of registration of the claim and the date of the DWP decision to either award or disallow the claim. unstar this property answer text <p>The UK regularly raises the situation in Myanmar with regional counterparts, including at Ministerial and Secretary of State level. We continue to support the regional leadership of ASEAN on the crisis in Myanmar, and welcome the announcement of a new ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar. We will work closely with the Envoy, and Indonesia as ASEAN Chair, to support the delivery of the ASEAN Five Point Consensus.</p><p>The UK also uses our role as UN Security Council pen-holder to raise awareness on the international stage, and on December 2022, the UN Security Council passed the first ever resolution on the situation in Myanmar, led by the UK, which demands an end to violence and urges immediate action by the military regime to fully implement the ASEAN Five Point Consensus.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Postal Services Act 2011 gives Ofcom robust powers to scrutinise performance of any regulatory requirements it has imposed on Royal Mail, and other operators, and to enforce those requirements, including imposing financial penalties or instituting court proceedings where appropriate. The Government has no plans to seek changes to the Act.</p><p> </p><p>Ofcom considers Royal Mail’s performance against its quality of service targets and will continue to closely monitor performance for 2022-23 which it has been clear should no longer be impacted by Covid-19.</p> more like this
