We are firmly convinced by the benefits that the AfCFTA should bring, and committed to supporting Africa realise increased levels of intra-regional trade. The UK was proud to be the first non-African country to sign an MoU with the AfCFTA Secretariat in September 2021.</p><p> </p><p>This department is working closely with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to support the AfCFTA Secretariat and Member Countries with implementation. We have launched a support programme which is currently delivering on the AfCFTA’s objectives. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/10/2020 answer text <p>The United Kingdom’s updated goods schedule was circulated at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) for certification on 24 July 2018, including tariff rate quotas for a range of agricultural goods.</p><p> </p><p>Australia and New Zealand were among the countries that expressed reservations. On 21st December 2018, the United Kingdom opened a process under Article XXVIII of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade to negotiate these tariff rate quotas with affected WTO Members. Officials have been engaging with concerned parties in this process.
