star this property answer text <p> </p><p>The Department decided that, because there is no existing universally agreed definition of genetic modification in humans, it would adopt a working definition. The definition that has been adopted is that genetic modification involves the germ-line modification of nuclear DNA (in the chromosomes) that can be passed on to future generations.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We have no current plans to revise the working definition but will keep it under review.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Self-care week is managed and promoted by the Self-Care Forum, an organisation which seeks to embed approaches to self-care it into everyday life and to educate and empower people to manage their own health and wellbeing. The Self Care Forum has been running its annual awareness campaign since 2011. This year, self-care week is taking place from 16-22 of November and the theme is ‘self-care for life’.</p><br /><p>The Self Care Forum has produced a range of promotional literature including posters, leaflets and a communication pack to help NHS services and other organisations raise awareness of self-care week locally. star this property answer text <p>The independent review into health inequalities in England undertaken by Professor Sir Michael Marmot culminated in the publication in 2010 of Fair Society, Healthy Lives. The review identified the most effective evidence-based strategies for reducing health inequalities in England and made the following recommendation:</p><p> </p><p>“Tobacco control is central to any strategy to tackle health inequalities as smoking accounts for approximately half of the difference in life expectancy between the lowest and highest income groups. Smoking-related death rates are two to three times higher in low-income groups than in wealthier social groups.”</p><p> </p><p>The new tobacco control plan is currently being developed and Ministers will decide on an appropriate publication date in due course.</p> more like this
