answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence has no plans to review the qualifying criteria for the Accumulated Service Medal (ACSM).</p><p>The ACSM was instituted in January 1994 (for all three Services) with a qualifying period of 36 months to recognise aggregated operational Service in Northern Ireland since 14 August 1969. The qualifying criteria were last amended in 2010 when it was agreed that the method of recognising repeat tours through the accumulation of operational service remained valid, but that the qualifying period should be reduced to 24 months from 1 January 2008. From that date, operational service has been rewarded, when eligible, by the award of the ACSM (2011), rather than ACSM (1994).</p><p>Issues surrounding the ACSM were looked at during Sir John Holmes's review of Military Medals, as part of work to consider claims for further medallic recognition. The conclusion of that review was announced in the House of Lords on 29 July 2014 (Official Report, column WS147).</p> more like this

Members, Trade Unions and others on this issue.</p><p>I have this year met the Prospect and Unite unions to discuss the normal pension age of the Defence Fire and Rescue Service. The issue was also raised at the Defence Whitley committee which I chaired in May and during my visit to the Defence Fire Training and Development Centre at Manston.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The majority of adaptations to Service Family Accommodation (SFA) properties are carried out for the benefit of family members and dependants. answer text <p>As part of the Army 2020 programme, 7,280 Service personnel were made redundant in tranches 1 to 3 of the Armed Forces Redundancy Programme and around 1,000 personnel were selected in the fourth and final tranche, the majority of whom will have left the Army by June 2015. All personnel selected receive at least six months notice, twelve if they did not apply for redundancy. On leaving the Armed Forces, personnel cease to be entitled to occupy Service Family Accommodation (SFA). While the Ministry of Defence will always be as flexible as possible in order to allow families the maximum time to secure alternative accommodation, on occasions it becomes necessary to proceed to eviction action in order that properties can be made available to entitled Service families. To date, a total of three Army personnel made redundant under the Armed Forces Redundancy Programme have been evicted from SFA.</p><p> </p> more like this
