These Funds are part of the government’s plan to level up our regions and create a more united country, one where people throughout the UK can benefit from our shared prosperity.</p><p>In December we paid out £16.4 million in capacity funding to local authorities from the initial 100 towns to support the development of a Town Deal Board and Investment Plan for each of the shortlisted towns in their area.</p><p>We have also to date spent £20.4 million from the Future High Street Fund on capacity funding, resourcing and to support policies that we have announced such as the High Streets Task Force. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/10/2019 answer text <p>On 6 September the government announced an initial 100 places that will be invited to develop proposals for Town Deals and we will work with local people from these communities to agree investment of up to £25 million in each place.</p><p>Places have been chosen on the basis of a robust selection methodology. This took into account various qualitative and quantitative indicators. These include, income deprivation, skills, productivity, EU exit response, economic shocks, investment opportunities and policy alignment. The SIA’s new IT system (introduced in July 2016) enables more detailed performance analysis. The system shows that the average number of days for processing applications (including renewals) was 38 days in July and 30 days in August. Once fully embedded, the SIA expect that the processing time for applications will be quicker than under the old system. The Security Industry Authority (SIA) have an annual performance target to process 80% of applications (including renewals) within 25 working days. The SIA met this annual target in the 2015/16 financial year.
