The UK can only contribute in ways agreed with the authorities in the relevant Member State and in compliance with EU law.</p><p>The UK has established a £10 million Refugee Children Fund for Europe to support the needs of vulnerable refugee and migrant children arriving in Europe. The fund includes targeted support to meet the specific needs of un-accompanied and separated children. All non-commercial dogs, cats and ferrets entering Great Britain on approved routes under the Pet Travel rules undergo 100% documentary and identity checks by authorised pet checkers.</p><p> </p><p>Authorised pet checkers are trained by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) prior to being granted approval and receive annual audits of their checking and processing to ensure they uphold our requirements. The transcript of the Committee’s evidence and the final report note there were mixed views on the consequences of a ban on third party sales of puppies. The Committee divided on this recommendation. During the EFRA Committee’s review, my department received briefing material from two stakeholders, Blue Cross and the Dogs Trust in which they outlined their concerns about a ban on third-party sales of puppies, including the risk of sales going underground.</p><p> </p><p>To address the concerns about breeding and sale of puppies, we are planning to bring forward regulations that would ensure that anyone in the business of selling pets, whether online or in a pet shop, will need a licence, and they would have to abide by a statutory animal welfare code for dogs. The Government aims to ensure that salaried directors can be furloughed and supported through this scheme, while still being able to meet their statutory duties. The guidance is clear that furloughed directors should do no more work than would reasonably be judged necessary to meet their statutory requirements, and that they should not do work of a kind they would carry out in normal circumstances to generate commercial revenue or provide services to or on behalf of their company.</p><p> </p><p>This scheme supplements the other significant support announced for UK businesses, including the Bounce Back Loans Scheme for small businesses, the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme, and the deferral of tax payments. As was the case with previous Administrations, it is not the Treasury's practice to provide details of all such discussions.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s shareholding in the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is managed at arm’s length from Government by UK Financial Investments (UKFI). UKFI is responsible for managing the shareholding on a wholly commercial basis, in a way that creates and protects value for the taxpayer. UKFI is not responsible, for managing the bank itself; RBS retains its own board for strategic and management decisions. This includes both physical and mental health.
