The Welfare Reforms such as the benefit freeze were designed to incentivise parents to choose to move into and progress in work. Evidence shows that work is the best route out of poverty. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/04/2019 answer text <p>All forms of retail crime are unacceptable, and everyone has the right to feel safe at work.</p><p>I chair the National Retail Crime Steering Group (NRCSG) which brings together partners including the police, trade bodies – including the Association of Convenience Stores - and retailers and is overseeing a range of work to tackle retail crime. This includes the collation and dissemination of good practice and developing guidance on the use of Impact Statements for Business, which give victims of business crime the opportunity to set out the impact the crime has had on the business, including, for example, financial loss. The NRCSG also continues to work with retailers to im-prove the management and response to shop theft using a partnership ap-proach according to local circumstances.</p><p>On 21 January I announced that we will launch a call for evidence on violence and abuse towards shop workers to strengthen our understanding of this issue, including how existing legislation is being applied.</p><p>In addition, the Sentencing Council is reviewing its guidelines on assault and a consultation on a revised guideline is anticipated to commence this Summer.</p> answering member constituency Louth and Horncastle answering member printed Victoria Atkins question first answered 02/04/2019 16:11:52 answering member 4399 label Biography information for Victoria Atkins

Whether that is to vote, to campaign or to stand for election, women must be there making the decisions.</p><p>Over the course of 2018, the Centenary Fund supported nearly 320 small and large projects. Many of them are ongoing and designed to encourage participation by offering women across the country information and training to take part in civic society at all levels. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/07/2018 answer text <p>The Offensive Weapons Bill includes provisions to prevent the sale of the most damaging corrosives to under 18s, rather than to persons under 21. This is because the age of 18 is common for other age restricted products such as alcohol and the sale of knives. It is also based on recognition that 18 is accepted internationally as the age of a child.</p><p>Placing a statutory age restriction at 21 would set a precedent for other age restricted products and would raise discrimination issues. Corrosive products are not in themselves offensive weapons and they have many legitimate uses in the home and business and there is no evidence that adults should be denied access to these products. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/06/2018 answer text <p>The Immigration Act 2016 amended the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 to allow sectors to be included or excluded from the remit of the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority so that the licensing regime can be flexible in meeting the changing nature of labour exploitation.</p><p>Changes to the licensing regime should be informed by an understanding of the threat of exploitation in different sectors and the full range of options to tackle it. That is why we have appointed the Director of Labour Market Enforcement to assess the risk of exploitation in different sectors and consider whether the use of licensing is an appropriate response.
