star this property answer text <p>The e-Borders programme has been incorporated within the Border Systems' scope <br>of work. Border Systems now assumes responsibility for the Warnings Index and <br>the wider Border Force portfolio of technology projects. Border Systems will <br>build on the foundations of the e-Borders programme, strengthening even further <br>our border security.<br><br>The procurement approach to replacing the primary border security elements of <br>the Border Systems Programme will reflect broader Government ICT and Commercial <br>strategy, and there will be no single, large supplier. The Home Office will <br>lead development, with services procured from a range of providers, potentially <br>including small and medium enterprises. <br><br>By March 2015 the Border Systems Programme aims to:<br><br>• Complete resilience of all current business critical systems; <br>• Develop replacement primary border security systems; <br>• Provide additional capability to support commitments on exit checks; <br>• Establish a programme for the next generation of Radiological and Nuclear <br>detection (Cyclamen); <br>• Continue the implementation of second generation e-Gates across the estate; <br>• Develop and implement new freight targeting capability for Sea Containers; <br>• Establish contracts to purchase new detection equipment; <br>• Continue to assure live operations of existing systems.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>The UK has a highly competitive mobile market offering consumers some of the best choice and value in Europe. Ofcom's design of the 2013 spectrum auction supported a competitive market with four wholesale mobile network operators. All of the operators have launched their services and there are now upwards of 5 million subscribers to 4G services in the UK. Despite only one of the operators having a coverage obligation on their licence to be met by 2017, all of the operators have announced their intention to reach 98% of the UK population by the end of 2015. The Government has taken steps to reduce the cost of rollout of mobile infrastructure including through planning reforms introduced in summer 2013 and we are considering what more can be done.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>During negotiations of the reform of the Common Agriculture Policy last year, which led to the agreement to end sugar beet production quotas in 2017, the UK pushed for the full liberalisation of the sugar regime in order to allow the sugar cane refiners to compete with the beet producers on an equal footing.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Disappointingly, there was insufficient support from other Member States to secure the necessary changes as part of that exercise. This Call for Information asks whether there are currently barriers to digital currency businesses setting up in the UK, and the Government will consider access to UK bank accounts as part of this.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In October, the Financial Conduct Authority launched its Innovation Hub to provide support to innovative businesses. It has identified helping innovators access bank accounts as a key priority.</p><p> </p> more like this
