	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/10/2017 answer text <p>We launched a national survey on 23 July to ask lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people living in the UK about their experiences of using public services, and about any experiences of discrimination that they may have faced throughout their lives.</p><p> </p><p>The survey closed on 15 October. We received more than 100,000 responses, making this one of the largest ever surveys of LGBT people in the world. We will analyse the results and use them to inform the Government’s policy on LGBT equality. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/11/2018 answer text <p>The Department has invested an extra £1.3 billion into core schools funding across 2018-19 and 2019-20, which is an increase from the plans set out in the last Spending Review. Core funding for schools and high needs has risen from almost £41 billion in 2017-18 to £42.4 billion this year and will rise further to £43.5 billion in 2019-20. The Department allows head teachers to use their funding in a way they feel achieves the best outcomes for pupils.</p><p> </p><p>From 2013 to March 2019, the Department is providing £5.3 million for pupils and teachers from state-funded secondary schools in England to participate in battlefield tours of the Western Front. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/11/2018 answer text <p>In 2014 financial literacy was made statutory within the national curriculum as part of the citizenship curriculum for 11 to 16 year olds. Pupils are taught the functions and uses of money, the importance of personal budgeting, money management and the need to understand financial risk.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has introduced a rigorous new mathematics curriculum, which provides young people with the knowledge and financial skills to make important financial decisions. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/06/2015 answer text <p>The government is committed to increasing the number of young people studying STEM subjects, in particular the number of girls.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2010, A level entries by female students have risen in all STEM subjects: in maths by 8%, in further maths by 8%, in biology by 12%, in chemistry by19% and in physics by15%.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Schools have the freedom to decide how to use this funding in the way that best suits the needs of their pupils. During the last five years, the department has funded four <del> </del>initiatives specifically aimed at increasing the study of STEM subjects by girls.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Stimulating Physics Network aims to increase the number of students progressing to A Level physics, with an emphasis on girls. Since 2011, the programme has received the following funding: 2010-11 £0.15m; 2011-12 - £0.15m; 2012-13 - £0.15m; 2013-14 - £0.15m; 2014-15 - £0.15m.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Your Life campaign launched by the government in 2014 aims to increase the numbers taking A Level physics and maths, particularly girls. The government spent £600,000 on Your Life activity in 2014-15. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/07/2015 answer text <p>Arrangements for teachers’ pay are based on recommendations from the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB), the independent body that advises on teachers’ pay and conditions. The reforms introduced in the last Parliament have given greater autonomy to schools to decide how to reward their staff and how quickly pay progresses. The most successful teachers are now able to progress faster than before. Following consultations with the statutory consultees, the Secretary of State confirmed the government’s acceptance of the STRB’s recommendations on 6 July 2015. In November 2014 there were 454,900 full time equivalent teachers, an increase of 5,200 from the previous year and 13,100 from 2010.</p><p>Data from the end of the recruitment cycle showed that we exceeded our target for the recruitment of primary teachers, and made good progress in secondary recruitment, including in several key subjects like English, mathematics, physics and chemistry, where recruitment finished ahead of the previous year.<strong></strong></p><p>We recognise that teacher recruitment is becoming increasingly challenging as the economy continues to strengthen and competition for new graduates intensifies, which is why we are focused on attracting more top graduates and career changers into the profession, particularly in those core academic subjects that help children reach their potential. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/11/2015 answer text <p>The Department for Education uses the Teacher Supply Model (TSM) to estimate the demand for qualified teachers in active service within state-funded schools in England each year using a range of assumptions, including projections for the numbers of pupils in schools and the number of teachers expected to leave the sector.
