	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/03/2014 answer text <p>In the 24 month period between March 2011 and April 2013, 322 service leavers applied to postgraduate initial teacher training (ITT). 132 of these were successful. This is an average of six successful applicants per month.</p><p>In the current academic year we have introduced the new Troops to Teachers undergraduate route. This is not comparable to previous years as it is a dedicated undergraduate route which is only for service leavers.</p><p>982 service leavers applied to Cohort 1, and the application process ran for 4 months. 41 service leavers joined the programme in January 2014. This is an average of 10 successful applicants per month. It provides a route into teaching for non-graduates with relevant skills and experience. It is a school-based two year programme, at the end of which service leavers will have both a degree and Qualified Teacher Status.</p><p>982 service leavers submitted an initial application to cohort 1 of the new undergraduate Troops to Teachers programme. 332 of these applications went forward to be considered by the initial teacher training provider, which is the normal first stage for initial teacher training applications. 41 service leavers joined the Troops to Teachers programme in January 2014.</p><p>These figures represent only the first cohort of Troops to Teachers trainees. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/12/2018 answer text <p>The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) does not maintain a central record of the number of cases relating to knife crime incidents that have not resulted in a successful prosecution. This information could only be obtained by examining CPS case files, which would incur disproportionate cost.</p><p>National figures on selected offences involving a knife or sharp instrument may be obtained from the <em>Crime in England and Wales Bulletin Tables</em> published by the Office of National Statistics.</p><p>National figures on the numbers of prosecutions and outcomes for specific criminal offences including possession of weapons may be obtained from the official statistics published by the Ministry of Justice.</p><p>Prosecutions for knife related incidents may be brought by way of Section 139 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 which provides for the offence of possession of a bladed or pointed article in a public place or Section 1 of the Prevention of Crime Act 1953 which makes the possession of an offensive weapon in a public place an offence.</p><p>The information held by CPS on such offences is limited to the number of offences in which a CPS prosecution was charged and which reached a first hearing in the Magistrates Court. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/06/2020 answer text <p>The Bona Vacantia Division (BVD) of the Government Legal Department (GLD) deals with the estates of people domiciled in England &amp; Wales who appear to have died without leaving a valid will or relatives entitled to share in their estates in priority to the Crown.</p><p> </p><p>Estates are administered by BVD in compliance with the law and the legal duties which apply to the administrators of estates.</p><p> </p><p>This includes making reasonable enquiries to establish whether the deceased has left a valid will or relatives entitled to share in the estate in priority to the Crown. There is no specific offence of that title. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) does not maintain a central record of the number of <strong>prosecutions</strong> for the specific offence of shoplifting. Identifying the number of prosecutions in which there was one or more charges relating to theft from a shop would require a manual exercise to review individual files which would incur a disproportionate cost.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The CPS does maintain a central record of the number of <strong>offences</strong> of shoplifting charged under section 1 of the Theft Act 1968 in which a prosecution commenced and reached a first hearing in magistrates’ courts. It is not possible to identify the number of defendants or cases prosecuted from this data.
