star this property answer text <p>For adults with an eating disorder, the NHS Long Term Plan has made a renewed commitment that mental health services will grow faster than the overall National Health Service budget, with additional investment worth at least £2.3 billion a year by 2023/24. This includes investment in community-based adult eating disorder services as part of the Plan’s commitment to transform community-based care for adults with mental health needs.</p><p> </p><p>The NHS is also investing over £30 million in services every year to meet and maintain ambitious waiting targets, with 70 community treatment teams now covering the whole of the country so that more children and young people can get eating disorder care closer to home and out of hospital.</p><p> </p><p>As part of a broader programme of work on community based mental health care for adults, alongside work to explore the effectiveness of different approaches to integrated delivery with primary care and starting this summer, NHS England will test four-week waiting times for adult and older adult community mental health teams with selected local areas to build understanding of how best to introduce ambitious but achievable improvements to access, quality of care and outcomes. In doing so, NHS England will also consider the interfaces with specialist community mental health services, particularly where there is an existing evidence base for rapid direct access (such as eating disorders).</p><p> </p><p>Learning from these test sites about the required inputs to increase access and reduce waits will inform future policy discussions about a suitable timeframe for implementation of any future access and waiting time targets, for core community provision or for specialist provision.</p>

The scheme is promoted through the Healthy Start and Start4Life websites, reminding families to take up the vouchers. star this property answer text <p>The Department has no plans to review the current system of medical exemptions from prescription charges. Extensive arrangements are already in place to help people access National Health Service prescriptions. These include a broad range of NHS prescription charge exemptions.</p><p>To support those with the greatest need who do not qualify for an exemption, the cost of prescription pre-payment certificates has been frozen for another year. A holder of a 12-month certificate can get all the prescriptions they need for just £2 per week.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The attached table shows counts of referrals received, entering treatment and finishing a course of treatment of patients who recorded as being an ex-British Armed Forces member for Quarter 4 2017/18, Quarter 1 2018/19 and Quarter 2 2018/9, England level from the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) dataset.</p><p> </p><p>The number of Ex-British Armed Forces veterans in contact with mental health services and the number of Ex-British Armed Forces veterans in hospital at the end of November 2018 from the Mental Health Services Dataset (MHSDS) is also attached.</p><p> </p><p>The IAPT dataset has collected information on veterans accessing this service since 2012. IAPT is run by the National Health Service in England and offers National Institute for Health and Care Excellence-approved therapies for treating people with anxiety and depression.</p><p> </p><p>The IAPT dataset records whether a referral is for a patient who has been a member of the British Armed Forces. It is not possible to identify the type of Armed Forces Service that the patient belonged to, or whether the patient was a regular or reserve veteran.</p>
