As a priority we will seek a bold and ambitious Free Trade Agreement that is of greater scope and ambition than any such existing agreement.</p><p>As we have made clear in our future partnership paper, we believe the UK and EU should continue to consult each other on foreign and security policy issues and agree joint positions, so that we can speak out together and drive progress on areas in our mutual interest. As an example, we should look to coordinate action, and share information, on sanctions policy when needed in order to respond robustly to those who challenge the rules-based international order, as we have recently done effectively in the case of Russia and Iran. We are clear that we want the EU to succeed: a successful EU, with the UK as its closest partner, is in all of our shared interests.</p><p>We want to have the greatest possible tariff- and barrier-free trade with our European neighbours, as well as to negotiate our own trade agreements around the world. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/10/2018 answer text <p>Under the terms of the draft Withdrawal Agreement, UK entities' right to participate in EU science and research funding programmes during the current Multiannual Financial Framework period will be unaffected by the UK's withdrawal from the EU for the lifetime of projects financed by the current MFF. No further agreement would be needed for the UK to participate in these programmes in this period.</p><p>The next generation of science and research programmes will begin in 2021. The Government’s proposals published in July 2018 set out that as part of an ambitious science and innovation accord the UK would like to explore association to future EU research funding programmes, including but not limited to Horizon Europe and Euratom R&amp;T. Any such an association would necessarily involve an appropriate UK financial contribution. The Charter was not intended to create new rights but rather to catalogue the rights that already existed in EU law. The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill sets out how this underlying law is being converted into UK law at the point we exit the EU. <br><br>Furthermore, the Charter is not the only source of fundamental rights. Many of the rights protected in the Charter are not only found in EU law but are protected in domestic law and other international instruments, such as the European Convention on Human Rights.</p><p>For example, the right to protection of personal data (Article 8 of the Charter) is based on provisions in the EU Treaties, the Data Protection Directive (due to be replaced by an EU Regulation) and the respect for private life in Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), which is given effect domestically by the Human Rights Act 1998.
