The campaigns generated 221 applications for the non-executive board member positions and 133 applications for the student experience representative. Please note that some applicants responded to both campaigns.</p><p> </p><p>11 candidates were shortlisted for interview for the non-executive board member positions. 10 interviews were held as one candidate did not attend the interview. Six candidates were shortlisted and interviewed for the student experience board member position.</p><p> </p><p>Ten candidates were deemed appointable for the non-executive board member positions. Three candidates were deemed appointable for the student experience board member position. Ministers chose to appoint five candidates from the ten non-executive campaign and therefore five candidates were not appointed. For the student experience campaign, ministers chose not to appoint any of the three appointable candidates. Afghanistan’s Constitution states that all citizens have equal rights and that non-Muslims are free to exercise their religious beliefs. However leaders of the Sikh community continue to report discrimination. The UK strongly condemned the 1 July attack on a group of Sikhs and Hindus in Jalalabad, responsiblity for which was claimed by Daesh. Afghanistan is a priority country for the FCO’s human rights work. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/11/2018 answer text <p>DCMS works with the Libraries Taskforce and local and central government to promote good practice and innovation to sustain and improve library services provided by local authorities in England, including in Barnet. Library services in England can help transform lives, communities and society as a whole, including in relation to children by supporting them to develop and enjoy their reading; to learn and study; and to take part in events and activities. For instance, the annual Summer Reading Challenge, run by The Reading Agency, promotes reading for children at their local libraries and has resulted in many thousands of children aged 4 – 11 joining a library and accessing library services.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, DCMS provided £3.9 million to the Libraries: Opportunities for Everyone innovation fund to enable library services to trial innovative projects that would benefit disadvantaged people and places in England.
