star this property answer text <p>Individual prison population and capacity information for every prison in England and Wales is published monthly on the Ministry of Justice website at: <a title="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/prison-population-figures-2014" href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/prison-population-figures-2014" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/prison-population-figures-2014</a></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Prisons are not expected to operate above their operational capacity and ensuring that this capacity is set to reflect the provision of safe and decent accommodation and the operation of suitable regimes ensures that levels of crowding in prisons are carefully managed.</p><p> </p><p>Sensible measures have been taken to ensure that we have sufficient capacity to deal with any temporary increases in population. These include creating additional places in prisons in a safe and decent way and ensuring that prisons reflect the needs of the current population.</p><p> </p><p>We will end this Parliament with more adult male prison places than we inherited, more hours of work in prisons than we inherited, more education for young detainees than we inherited and a more modern, cost effective prison estate than we inherited.</p><p> </p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>Following feedback from prison Governors, we have made some minor adjustments to the property prisoners are allowed to have under the revised Incentives and Earned Privileges (IEP) framework, including metal guitar strings. Governors were notified on 15 July 2014 that, with immediate effect, it was open to them to include full metal guitar strings on their local facilities lists. This allows eligible prisoners to purchase them for use on acoustic guitars kept in-cell.</p><p> </p><p>Full metal strings are, as with the nylon and metal coiled strings which were already permitted, available by application only, issued on a one-for-one basis, and subject to local risk assessment. As with the nylon and metal coiled strings, Governors can make them available to prisoners on the Standard and Enhanced levels of the IEP framework.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Professional Skills Test results database has been updated to reflect the change in outcome for those candidates who were incorrectly notified that they had failed their Skills Test. Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providers have access to this database.</p><p>Any candidate affected in this way was instructed to contact the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) if they wanted to discuss their options.</p><p>The STA have also written to all providers of ITT courses to inform them of the issue.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has agreed to provide £350 million in 2015-16 to the least fairly-funded local authorities in England. We are able to achieve this without any local authority receiving a cut to its per-pupil schools budget.</p><p> </p><p>We are able to deliver this boost by using money from within our protected schools budget and because HM Treasury will provide additional funding as required.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Education intends to find the majority of the £350 million from within its existing protected schools budget as determined at the Spending Round in June 2013. Based on current forecasts, the Treasury will provide around £90 million in addition to the Department's contribution.</p><p> </p><p>The precise level of any additional funding from the Treasury will become clear when we have final data on pupil numbers.</p> more like this

Friend, the Secretary of State for Education, established a dedicated Due Diligence and Counter Extremism Division within the Department for Education in October 2010 in order to tackle the threat of extremism in schools. The Government's revised <em>Prevent</em> strategy, published in June 2011, set out a general assessment of the threat.
