	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/10/2014 answer text <p>The UK is a signatory to the 1961 UN Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness and the 1930 Special Protocol concerning Statelessness. The 1961 Convention clearly sets out the circumstances in which it is permissible to remove citizenship and leave a person stateless and when it is not. <br>Recent amendments to the power contained in the UK’s domestic legislation regarding removal of British citizenship were made in accordance with these obligations.
