star this property answer text The government gave Ofcom powers, through the Digital Economy Act 2017, to publish criteria for children's programmes and, where appropriate, to set conditions on licensed public service channels to ensure that children’s programming meets the criteria. On 29 November Ofcom launched a Review of Children's Content and have invited initial input to the review by 31 January 2018. It intends to publish its findings, alongside any proposed regulatory measures, in summer 2018. more like this

The detailed background and supporting case for this move was set out in the policy statement we published on 18 November.</p><br /><p>Decisions on the proposed sale are being taken in accordance with best practice to ensure all available options are properly examined in a detailed business case and that a robust valuation process is followed. We expect taxpayers to gain a receipt to the public purse from a majority sale of GIB, and to benefit from reduced public funding requirements in future.</p><br /> more like this
