The UK has enjoyed record levels of deployment of renewables in recent years and the Government has also agreed a deal to bring forward the first new nuclear power station in a generation. Increasingly, as we benefit from the lower technology costs arising from this deployment, we can expect competitive forces increasingly to stimulate further investment in the low carbon power generation that the country needs.

more like this

But we need to cut carbon whilst also cutting costs to the consumer and to the taxpayer.

The Green Deal market framework has not been affected by the decision not to invest further public funds into the Green Deal Finance Company. Therefore, subject to Green Deal providers sourcing their own finance streams or a new finance provider entering the market, Green Deal providers may still write Green Deal plans and offer Green Deal finance to consumers.

The changes to tax exemptions for low carbon cars in the Company Car Taxation system came into force in 2015-16. To date we have not seen any effect in take up of such vehicles as a result of these tax changes.

Our assessment of the impact of the changes we are making to renewable electricity support are set out in the impact assessment published alongside each of the changes to renewables support which are available on www.gov.uk/decc.

Lastly, the privatisation of the GIB will allow the company to increase its investments in the UK green economy. It will be able to raise more capital free from being on the Government balance sheet. It will also be free from State Aid restrictions on the green investments it can make.

This allows eligible prisoners to purchase them for use on acoustic guitars kept in-cell.

Full metal strings are, as with the nylon and metal coiled strings which were already permitted, available by application only, issued on a one-for-one basis, and subject to local risk assessment. star this property answer text
We know the SSI Redcar plant lost over £600 million in over three years. When the company went into liquidation, the Official Receiver bought supplies to keep certain operations, such as the coke ovens, going in the hope of finding a commercial buyer.

Unfortunately, no commercial buyer could be found to maintain operations at the plant. While this was deeply disappointing, with such large losses and debts, and the price of steel produced at SSI expected to stay depressed for some considerable time, it was perhaps not surprising.

It is too early to say what the costs of preparing the site for redevelopment will be. This will depend on the state the site is left in following liquidation, the future use of the site and any private sector interest in it, which could generate value to offset redevelopment costs.

The Government is providing the Official Receiver with the funds and support necessary to deliver a safe liquidation of SSI.
