	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/11/2014 answer text <p>The UK sent 71 observers to observe the parliamentary elections in Ukraine on 26 October as part of an Organisation for Security and Co-oporation in Europe delegation of 680 international observers. The Parliamentary Assembly for the Council of Europe also sent a delegation of 36 which was led by my Hon. Friend the Member for Christchurch (Mr Chope) and included my Hon. Friend the Member for North Thanet (Sir Roger Gale) and my Noble Friend the Lord Balfe. The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt. Hon. Friend the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond), issued a statement on 24 October in which he commended all those working to ensure a free, fair and peaceful vote. The UK’s Permanent Representative to the UN also issued a statement which called on the elections to go ahead without external interference and pressed the Ukrainian authorities to take steps to ensure that as many Ukrainian citizens as possible could exercise their right to vote. On 27 October the Prime Minister, my Rt. Hon. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/11/2014 answer text <p>The British Embassy in Chisinau has a number of projects in the Republic of Moldova (including in the Transnistrian region) that work to increase engagement and build confidence between the Sides (Moldova and the Transnistrian region). These projects are funded by the cross-Whitehall Conflict Pool and promote dialogue on all levels: political, business and civil society. They include conflict analysis training, summer and winter schools for young leaders and exchanges of peace-building experience based on the Northern Ireland example.</p><p>The Embassy works closely with the Organisation for Security and Co-oporation in Europe, EU, United Nations Development Programme and other interested partners in Moldova on this issue. At the UK political level, The Leader of the House (in his then capacity as Foreign Secretary), I as Minister for Europe and the All-party parliamentary group (APPG) on Moldova have all visited the country this year. The APPG also visited Transnistria. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/11/2014 answer text The UK continues to encourage all parties to the conflicts in Georgia, including Russia, to work constructively towards a long-term settlement. We hold frequent discussions with the Georgian government encouraging them to engage with the breakaway regions and with international processes including the Geneva International Talks, the only forum at present where all parties to the conflict meet. We also engage with the EU and other international partners to explore how dialogue between Georgia and its breakaway regions could be promoted. The UK-Georgia Dialogue in London in late November will provide a further opportunity to discuss Georgia’s approach to Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The UK plays a leading role in funding projects aimed at improving engagement and dialogue across the conflict divide. In addition, UK officials hold discussions with both the Armenian and the Azerbaijani Governments where possible to underline our support for a swift resolution. Friend the Member Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond) met with his counterparts from NATO Allies and NATO’s aspiring members (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia and Montenegro) on 4 September 2014 during the NATO Summit in Wales. During this meeting their progress towards joining the Alliance was discussed, among other issues. At the Summit, NATO Foreign Ministers agreed to commence ‘intensified and focused talks’ with Montenegro before reassessing their progress no later than December 2015.
