unstar this property answer text <p>Funding for Jobcentre Plus Community Partners and additional Disability Employment Advisers has been agreed up until 31st March 2019.</p><p> </p><p>There is a range of support available for claimants with a health condition or disability, including one-to-one support from Work Coaches, The Work and Health Programme and the Personal Support package. Our overall aim is for work coaches to continue to develop the skills and confidence to provide good coaching and effective support. Disability Employment Advisers and Community Partners are among a number of the enablers in place to support this priority.</p><p> </p><p>We are carrying out continuous evaluation, including a review of the Community Partner and Disability Employment Adviser role functions. Recommendations from this review will be considered by Ministers and DWP Senior Leaders as they decide how to ensure that we continue to provide a cohesive support offer beyond 31st March 2019.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>At this point in the Universal Credit (UC) rollout schedule, we are not able to distinguish between Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and UC claims at entitlement level within the Family Resources Survey data (available on gov.uk) for the purposes of estimating take-up statistics. Therefore the JSA data are not of a suitable quality to be published. We are also unable to estimate UC take-up rates at present.</p><p> </p><p>In total, there are 700,000 households not claiming their full entitlement under the legacy system, that we expect will claim Universal Credit because it is a more accurate system.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Deductions may include a number of items that are debt repayments, but may also include other items such as payments to utility companies for current bills, or court fines. These are not debts. Disaggregating categories that represent debt, from those that do not, would incur a disproportionate cost.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>In August 2018, 0.6% of Universal Credit claimants had a deduction that exceeded the normal 40% maximum deduction rate (this does not include sanctions or fraud penalties which are reductions of benefit rather than deductions). In these cases, a priority order is applied so that deductions for arrears of housing costs or fuel costs are applied first, in order to to protect claimant welfare.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Payment into a bank, building society or credit union is the preferred way for Universal Credit to be paid. This reflects the notion of Universal Credit mirroring the world of work. For example, an employer would usually require a bank account for a salary to be paid into. The Post Office card account and the Government Payment Exception Service cannot be used for the receipt of wages and have no direct debit facility to support payment of housing costs and other bills.</p><p> </p><p>In April 2018 3,211 claims were receiving payments in to a Post Office Card Account and 15 claims were receiving payments via the Government Payment Exception Service method.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, there are a number of claimants receiving payments into another individual’s bank account but it is not possible to disaggregate this information from a wider dataset which includes, for example, accounts held in a person’s maiden name.</p> more like this

Claimants who do not have a reasonable adjustment in place are not permitted to receive correspondence from the Department by email as email is not classed as secure and there is an increased risk of data loss which could have a negative impact on both the individual and the Department.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Email must be used as a reasonable adjustment where it is requested by an individual disabled citizen who finds it difficult or impossible to communicate via other channels. Requesting communications via email must be for a valid reason which relates to the individual’s disability. Once email as a reasonable adjustment has been agreed the customer will be advised of the risks of data travelling over the unsecure network and being seen by 3<sup>rd</sup> parties via the confirmation email ‘disclaimer’ they receive.</p><p> </p>
