star this property answer text <p>Since the Centre for Health and Disability Assessments took over the contract to carry out assessments in March 2015, they have made a number of improvements to claimants’ experience of assessments, including:</p><p> </p><ul><li>Increasing the number of Healthcare Professionals by around 70% since the start of the contract, thereby ensuring that claimants go through the assessment process more quickly; and,</li><li>Increasing the number of assessment rooms used so that they can see more people at more locations.</li></ul><p> </p><p>As a result of these improvements, the time taken from referral to the supplier to the claimant receiving a face-to-face Work Capability Assessment has more than halved since the start of the contract.</p> more like this

A programme of work is currently underway to look into what information on ESA waiting times is available to publish as official statistics on the ESA-WCA process. When a decision has been made DWP Statisticians will pre-announce the statistics in accordance with the UKSA release protocols.</p><p> </p><p>The Labour Market statisticians are currently working on producing some published statistics based on the Median clearance times for the initial part of the customer journey.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>To assist claimants, DWP shares information with HMRC to help identify those Child Tax Credits (CTC) claimants entitled to higher rate CTC because of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) Child award. The clerical process to do this was not working as intended and resulted in a reduced number of clerical referrals from DWP to HMRC.</p><p> </p><p>Referral volumes are now back in line with expectations and there have been no further issues reported. We remain committed to taking all reasonable steps to make the process more robust.</p><p> </p><p>At the Autumn Statement the Government announced HMRC will put this right for claimants affected this year and claimants will receive a lump sum payment to reflect entitlement since 6 April 2016, and an on-going higher award.</p> more like this

In the FRS tax credit receipt is based on self-assessment and therefore may be subject to misreporting, and the FRS is known to undercount receipt of certain benefits. The numbers in the table have been corrected for the undercount. They have been produced by scaling the proportion in each decile from HBAI to the overall number of families in receipt of child tax credit, working tax credit and both child tax credit and working tax credit, from administrative data. Small differences should be treated with caution as these will be affected by sampling error and variability in non-response. Numbers of individuals have been rounded to the nearest hundred thousand. Numbers that round to less than one hundred thousand have been suppressed (“-“).</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>The reforms to the Social Fund in 2013 have allowed local authorities in England and the devolved administrations in Scotland and Wales to deliver their own local provision for people who are in need of urgent help. The Government believe that councils are best placed to decide how to target flexible help to support local welfare needs. The Government has no plans to change these arrangements and we have not placed on them any duties, expectations or monitoring requirements in this area.</p> more like this
