Our eligibility criteria for free school meals support children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds by providing a free and healthy school meal each day. Including food insecurity in the National Curriculum is a recommendation arising from the Children’s Future Food Inquiry. We welcome this report and will reflect carefully on it over the coming months and consider how we can best respond to the important issues raised.</p><p> </p><p>The National Curriculum on design and technology in secondary schools covers cooking, emphasising the importance of this as a crucial life skill that enables pupils to feed themselves and others affordably and well. The National Curriculum for citizenship in secondary schools sets out that teaching should prepare pupils to manage their money well, make sound financial decisions, and plan for future financial needs. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/09/2018 answer text <p>Clause 17 of the Offensive Weapons Bill provides the definition of “bladed product” for the prohibition on the delivery of knives and other bladed items to residential addresses under Clause 15 of the Bill. A “bladed product” is an article which is, or has, a blade and is capable of causing serious injury to a person which involves cutting that person’s skin. If ordered online, and meeting the definition of “bladed product”, then these articles would need to be collected from a place where age verification can take place, either by the purchaser or their representative.</p><p>Specialist tools may be exempted from the prohibition on the delivery to a residential address dependant on the specific item in question.</p><p>The Bill provides a number of defences around the prohibition of delivery of bladed items to a residential address. For example, deliveries to business premises, including where a business is run from home, would not be affected by the prohibition. However, we recognise that some sponsors will have a reduced earning capacity as a result of disability or caring for someone with a disability. Therefore, an applicant whose sponsor is in receipt of a specified disability-related benefit or Carer’s Allowance will be exempt from meeting the minimum income requirement. In such cases the sponsor is required to demonstrate adequate maintenance. In exceptional circumstances, where a refusal leads to a breach of Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights other sources of income can be taken into account in order to meet the minimum income requirement.</p><p>The Supreme Court has upheld the lawfulness of the minimum income requirement for spouse visas, which prevents burdens on the taxpayer and promotes integration. We are clear that detention and removal must be carried out with dignity and respect, and we expect nothing but the highest standards of care from our commercial partners.</p><p><br>The welfare of detainees and the conditions of detention are governed by the Detention Centre Rules 2001and must additionally meet the published Operating Standards for IRCs and the comprehensive guidance set out in published Detention Services Orders. This collective framework provides guidance on issues associated with this case.</p><p>We undertake regular reviews of detention to ensure it remains lawful, appropriate and proportionate. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/03/2019 answer text <p>In April 2018, the Government published the Serious Violence Strategy which sets out a comprehensive set of 61 commitments and actions we are taking to tackle violent crime. This includes launching a £22m Early Intervention Youth Fund, which is already supporting 29 projects in England and Wales; a national knife crime media campaign: #knife free; a new National County Lines Coordination Centre and the Offensive Weapons Bill, which will strengthen legislation on firearms, knives and corrosive substances. <br>On 2 October 2018, the Home Secretary announced further important measures including a consultation on new legal duty to support a multi-agency approach to preventing and tackling serious violence, a new long term £200 million Youth Endowment Fund and an Independent Review of Drug Misuse.</p><p>Most recently, on 13 March, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced an additional £100 million of funding for serious violence in 2019/20. This funding will directly support the police’s immediate response to the rise in serious knife crime, as well as supporting investment in Violence Reduction Units, which will bring together a range of agencies including health, education, social services and others to develop a multi-agency approach to preventing serious violence altogether. It is important that we recognise that greater law enforcement on its own will not reduce serious violence and that we must continue to focus on prevention.</p><p>With specific reference to Barnsley and the Sheffield City Region, we have awarded almost £1.25m from the Early Intervention Youth Fund to the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire in support of two projects, one of which is working in Barnsley and the other in Sheffield. As part of the package of reforms to the National Referral Mechanism, the Home Office is leading a multi-agency review to determine how to strengthen training for First Responders on identifying and supporting victims.</p><p><br>Through the reform programme of the NRM we have already improved the support victims receive. In February 2019, we extended the move-on period of support.
